There Are Ways To Fight Drunk Driving Charges

If you have been stopped for a DWI or DUI in Texas, it's not the end of the world; but when all the punishments kick in, it may seem like it.

Ira L. Davis, Attorney at Law, knows that an arrest for a DWI can be humiliating and costly. He knows that the state of Texas makes you pay for your mistake long after the actual arrest has occurred. His aim is to prevent that from happening to you.

Please call me at 512-472-9154 to schedule a free and confidential meeting to tell me what happened. My goal will be to help you get the DWI case dismissed or secure the best possible outcome for you. Or e-mail me now.

Ira Davis Attorney at Law, does not believe that a drunk driving charge should dog you the rest of your life. He will do his best to defend your rights and help you get your life back on track with minimal consequences.

Defend Against a DWI

Challenging the arrest is just one possibility for a lawyer to provide a defense. The police officer's subjective testimony against you may be challenged. Often, it is only his word against yours. If that can be questioned, it may be a reason for a possible dismissal or lowering of punishments.

I will pore over the arrest record for procedural violations. Sometimes even one mistake made during the arrest is enough to get the case dismissed. Extenuating circumstances are taken into account during a DWI defense. I will thoroughly explore them all in protecting your rights.

For over 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer of misdemeanors and felonies, I have represented hundreds of people charged with DWI. I have had cases dismissed entirely or gotten the fines or jail time reduced.

At the Administrative License Revocation (ALR) Hearing

The arresting officer can be required to appear and to provide testimony. This testimony may later be used against him to your benefit at trial. You can also require the technicians in charge of the breath test present. If they fail to appear at the hearing,  your case could be dismissed.

If the Case Is Not Dismissed

Lawyers can negotiate effectively on your behalf because we know how. In between the zero to 1000s of dollars of fines for a DWI is a lot of leeway. This is where the help of a lawyer who is good at negotiating comes in especially useful for you.
